tools.zip Readme ================= MediaCrawler and RealCrawler are somewhat documented but not in detail. Note that Realcrawler has a bug when the program terminates (a memory cleanup problem from the RealNetworks core and not from the clean itself up, but this willnot affect the crawling). Media Crawler inherits the interfaces and everything from Media Tracker (see: http://perform.wpi.edu/real-tracer/) with a few modifications. Note that the MediaCrawler/Realcrawler names do not necessarily conform tothe names in the paper. The tools wmprop (for windows Media) and testplay (for real player) are not documented. And since they are modified from the provider SDK example, I am not sure if we could distribute is online for copyright reasons. The source code for mplayer is not included since we did not modify it at all. The source code for mplayer can be download from: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design6/dload.html There are no detailed instructions on how to build any the programs. However, they should be easy to build. In any event, also included is a binary (.exe file) for each tool. This binary should be run on all windows computers with Microsoft Media Player and RealNetworks RealPlayer installed. ---- For any questions related to the crawling, please contact: Mark Claypool (claypool@cs.wpi.edu), Robert Kinicki (rek@cs.wpi.edu), or Mingzhe Li (lmz@cs.wpi.edu).
